In an almost autobiographical poetics, shapes, colors and imaginary constructions have always populated my restless mind, marked by fears, secrets, guilt and solitary discoveries.
The deconstruction of the scars was possible after understanding that it is allowed to dare and objectify in my art the memories of an almost "destructive" past. My works are born to expose weaknesses, denounce manipulations, protest against lies told under the bias of philosophical/religious dualism. My poetics denounce the extermination of those who are part of the LGBTQIAPN+ community, since Brazil is constantly at the top of the list as one of the countries that kills the most LGBT people in the world.
A permanent cry for a libertarian/poetic clamor, essential for the possible understanding of being, seeking, perceiving, denouncing and living: Each work is a catharsis that legitimizes the pride of who I have become.

How would you describe your artistic style?

Contemporary. I seek to value the idea much more than the aesthetics itself. I want to make an impact through the message that my works convey. Through the criticisms that I try to make in each work.

What themes do you prefer to explore in your works?

My research is entirely focused on the LGBTQIAPN+ community. After all, I am part of this community. I seek to give voice, support, protect and, above all, denounce what I call EXTERMINATION. For years, Brazil has occupied a shameful place in the ranking of countries that kill the most LGBT people in the world. And with the growing expansion of the extreme right, I would even say very radical, we all need to be aware of what will directly impact us. Whether it is an attempt to erase, to take away rights and, as I said, to exterminate our people. That is why I work with a critical poetics, demanding more rights, protection, information, and education.

What materials and techniques do you use most often?

I basically use acrylic paint on canvas, since painting is the main technique I work with. But I try not to stick to it 100 percent, because I believe that artists should experiment with as many techniques and media as possible. This develops not only the technique, but also the artistic poetics itself. I also use a lot of dry pastel, India ink, charcoal, fabric, and I dabble in linocuts, and that's how I create my compositions.

Who are the artistic influences that have impacted your work?

I really like the Brazilian artist Leonilson, the English artist Tracey Emim and the American Basquiat. Among the masters of the past, I am particularly attracted to the works of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and Egon Schiele.

What is the meaning of art in your life?

Art is like a parallel reality where everything is acceptable, free from judgment.

How do you stay up to date on trends?

You have to be alert all the time. Look for information about the market, what artists are producing, trends. I try to go to exhibitions, museums, galleries, participate in study groups, etc. And of course, be aware of what is happening in the virtual world. There is a lot being done, and a lot of good stuff is spread through social media, especially.

What is the role of the artist in today's society?

The role of the artist is to provoke those who like to be provoked and to bother those who are doing something wrong.

Have you participated in any notable exhibitions that you would like to share?

I have participated in several exhibitions and they are all important to me. Each one has contributed to my growth, to my work reaching more people, to my being able to convey my message.
